Current Work 2024
This is the work that is currently in my studio - My loose, process-oriented paintings are abstracted representations of my personal adventures out and about my seacoast Island home. Having grown up on this island and returned to get married and raise my own children here - the location is a significant spiritual metaphor for my life.
I think that when you spend such a great amount of time in one place you can begin to see the smaller nuances and greater rhythms of climate, nature, and inhabitants. I am continuously delighted by discovery of the new and recognition of the familiar.
Despite the abstracted quality of these paintings, to me they feel exactly representational of my experiences of the place and time.
