Current Art Work 2025
I have been very busy in my studio, primarily working on three series. I am categorizing the different series based on the materials used BUT I often work on them simultaneously and so they inform each other - sharing colors, textures, ideas and materials.
Abstracted Landscapes - this is a fabulous series that is inspired by the Southern Maine. NH Seacoast landscape and often refers to specific times and places that I experienced nature. This series is 30 years and counting; mostly acrylics on canvas.
Watercolors - This is a material I truly love - I continue to teach classes and workshops in this medium - I have been working with it for forty years. Because of the brilliance and fluidity of the medium I like to paint images from my flower garden, seaside walks and nature hikes in a loose free manner.
Scrap Wood Assemblages - I have recently revisited a mixed media series I did in the Eighties that uses found materials in a rough assemblage collage style. I have been combining narratives - figuative story painting on the three di surface. The stories have been about the Seacoast and the Island history.
